To whom it may concern, As a talented and caring teacher with over four years of experience, I am writing to express my interest in joining your team of skilled professionals as an ESL teacher at your school. My experience aligns well, as I have had several different pedagogical encounters over the years. I have done volunteer teaching with native Canadian children and adolescents and have worked one-on-one with students of all ages and ethnic backgrounds at my Kumon job, my freelance tutoring business, and at Veritas Academic Consulting. In addition, I am not only TESL certified, but have had a plethora of experience in recent months teaching both academic-level English and ESL full-time to Korean students at my recent Summer camp job. I have also taught ESL to both adolescent and young adult learners of all ethnic backgrounds at my most recent occupation at London Language Institute, where I taught in-person and hybrid classes for a year. Additionally, I have had online ESL experience teaching young Chinese students who lived overseas in China. Now, I am seeking full-time employment in a brand new city to seek new, exciting challenges to enhance my teaching career. I have built a variety of professional and effective skills that will serve me greatly as an excellent teacher. I excel at: Creating engaging and visually stunning PowerPoint slides for my students to follow along with Forming well-organised and thought-out lesson plans Communicating effectively and appropriately with any and all students I work with Assisting students with their work when they have difficulty understanding how to complete it Additionally, I have a strong educational background, as I completed both a Major in English Literature and a Minor in Philosophy at King’s University College at Western University. I also have a very outgoing personality, and I am quite good at acting things out, which serves me well in engaging the class with my lessons while educating them. This, in turn, allows me to build strong rapport with my students, which has always been crucial to me as an educational instructor.
