Duties · Network monitoring and troubleshooting. This involves monitoring the network performance using tools and software as well as identifying and resolving issues before they affect the network users. Also to diagnose and solve network problems including connectivity, speed and security issues in the field. · To install and configure client’s network infrastructure. This is done through installation and testing network cables such as Ethernet and fiber optic cables and setting up network related software applications such as network monitoring tools and VPN clients · Assisting in the implementation of network security measures, including firewall, intrusion detection systems and antivirus software. Also to manage user access to network resources by ensuring proper permissions are in place. · To provide technical support and assistance to end-users experiencing network issues, help desk tickets related to network problems and escalate issues when necessary as well as providing training and documentation to end-users on network-related topics. · To work closely with other team members such as the systems administrators, software developers and security specialists to achieve common goals and also to collaborate with other different departments to ensure their network needs are met.
