Zhejiang University International Campus (Haining International Campus) (hereinafter referred to as the International Campus) is a strategic educational base that actively serves the national strategy of opening up high-level education to the outside world, the regional innovation-driven development strategy, and the acceleration of Zhejiang University's construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics. The international campus is located in Haining, jointly built by Zhejiang University and Haining City, and the first batch of students was enrolled in 2016, and the campus was fully completed in 2017. With the strong support of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, the International Campus has achieved a high-level start and achieved remarkable results. In May 2019, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council proposed to build a model area for international cooperation education in the International College of Zhejiang University. In September 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly issued and implemented the Plan for the Construction of International Education Model Areas of Zhejiang University International College (Haining) and Duke Kunshan University. The International Campus adheres to the positioning of "self-oriented, high-level, and one-to-many", and has established two high-level non-independent legal person Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions, Zhejiang University, University of Edinburgh Joint College, and Zhejiang University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Joint College. Zhejiang University International Business School was established. The International Campus has established cooperation with more than 60 world-famous universities around the world, such as Harvard University, Cambridge University, University of Oxford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, etc., established 11 international cooperation research centers including advanced photonics, engineering biology, information electronics, functional polymers, etc., and built 16 provincial and ministerial international cooperation research platforms such as the International Joint Research Center for Optoelectronic Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China-Portugal "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory for Advanced Materials, and the International Cooperation Joint Laboratory of Photonics and Technology of the Ministry of Education. Participated in the construction of the National Key Laboratory of Bio-based Transport Fuel Technology. It has gathered a group of more than 10 leading scientific and technological talents, including academicians from developed countries, 87 full-time teachers from 15 countries and more than 60 part-time teachers from British and American partner universities, and three Zhejiang "Kunpeng Action" plan teams have settled in the international campus. The International Campus fully draws on and absorbs the advanced educational concepts and education systems of world-class universities, creates a teaching model that is in line with international standards, establishes a whole-process teaching quality assurance mechanism, and builds a new talent training mechanism that integrates the advantages of the East and the West. At present, there are 3,119 students (including 1,755 undergraduates and 1,364 postgraduates), including 454 international students. The admission rate of the five undergraduate graduates at home and abroad is about 90%, the admission rate of the top 20 universities in overseas further study is about 80%, and the admission rate of direct doctoral degree is about 30%.
