Head of ITReporting to: General Manager of Mindwalk StudiosKey ResponsibilitiesThe Head of IT will have two main areas of responsibility, within a growing CGI and animation studio:1) To maintain, manage and (over time) develop the internal infrastructure of the studio so as to maximize operational efficiency. This includes the classical enterprise IT management areas of networking, security, storage, user support and inventory, with continual upgrades and evolution to hardware and software.2) To ensure world-class support for external projects with overseas clients (game developers), which frequently involve collaboration using proprietary software and systems. This includes rapid set-up of custom production pipelines and 24/7 collaboration with technical teams within some of the world’s biggest game developers. The successful candidate will manage an IT budget to cover both areas, developing proposals, planning and implementing them to meet changing operational needs. He or she will also draft, implement and evolve IT-related processes and policies, as required.

Required Skills and Traits:• 3-5 years of experience in IT management;• Excellent communication skills:• Excellent spoken and written English (the role is sometimes customer facing);• At minimum basic Mandarin Chinese;• Excellent organizational skills, a systematic approach to work, and a detail-oriented personality. These should manifest themselves in clear, concise written documents.• Ability to rapidly diagnose, report, and test problems that occur.• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of software (especially Microsoft Excel);• Familiarity with networking concepts such as DHCP, DNS, Subnets, and Routes.• Sufficient understanding different network protocols and how they are used in our tools so as to be able to limit or tier access.• Familiarity with IT Security and data security concepts and implementation.• Proficiency with set-up and configuration of Firewalls, Routers, Proxies, VPNs (with variable access).• Understanding of Windows Active Directory concepts (Basic Directory Structure, Group Policy, DNS integration)• Understanding of Windows Shares and NTFS permissions.• A strong interest in computer graphics and video games.Preference Will Be Given to Candidates Possessing: • Fluent Mandarin skills.• Experience in the video game industry.• Skills at scripting and automation for Windows and 3D software such as Maya or 3DS Max (e.g. Python, Perl, MEL, Maxscript, Windows .bat, *nix Shell).
