Central Airlines completed its business registration in June 2016, and won approval from Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for establishment in 2019. A successful maiden flight was made in May 2020. In August 2022, Central Airlines completed the overall relocation of its headquarters and officially settled in Haikou, becoming the first air cargo carrier based in Hainan.
