Responsible for creating grade level lesson plans both Math and ELA. Attended all grade level math professional development. Implement a variety of teaching strategies including cooperative learning and a hands-on/manipulative approach to math and ELA. Used small group instruction across all subjects to provide inclusive learning for all students. Provide additional support to students struggling in math and ELA. Work with a variety of students including a high ESL population, students with disabilities and emotional difficulties and gift students. Attend weekly training sessions. Coordinate lessons for an inclusion environment for students with different IEP implementations. Enrich mathematics curriculum by creating authentic assessments and projects as well as using the curriculum assessment. Formulate and implement appropriate IEP goals while employing effective assessment techniques to record progress and develop data-driven prediction of instruction success. Assist with parent involvement activities, learning presentations along with coordinating extra-curricular activities. Took over a 2nd grade class with lowest academic performance to having one of the highest scores in both ELA and Math.
